On April 30th, 2013 newly appointed Governor Mike Pence signed the Senate Enrolled Act 125. This act creates a commission that will look at issues and actions relating to children in the state of Indiana.   This Act launches the Child Services Oversight Committee, which will review data reports from both the Department of Child Services as well as the DCS ombudsman.  The charge of the Committee is to make recommendations which would improve the distribution of child protection services in Indiana.  Local and statewide child fatality review teams will also be assisting each other in analyzing data at the local level.
