2021 was a year of discovery and learning for all of us as we continued to navigate the pandemic.  It was also an incredible year of growth for us at Applegate & Dillman Elder Law with the opening of a new center, multiple hires and hundreds of families served at our three locations.

2021 Opening of the Elder Law Mediation Center

This year, the Applegate & Dillman Elder Law Mediation Center opened in Zionsville. The center provides a safe space to address disagreements, brainstorm new and creative solutions and shape outcomes that consider everyone’s needs and align best for the elder. Mediation helps families avoid costly litigation and come to a peaceful resolution.

New faces

We added some new faces to the team and promoted some familiar faces this year! We hired seven new employees this year, created three new positions and many of us received additional training and certifications, particularly in mediation.

New hires include:

Laurel Gilchrist: Senior Attorney, Registered Mediator

Eliza Gordner: Associate Attorney

Erika Godfrey: Intake Specialist

Kristin Cunningham: Marketing Specialist

Tammy Quillin: Elder Care Coordinator

Skyler Fulkerson: Finance Team Associate

Gretchen Crawford: Administrative Assistant

These team members did amazing work and received promotions:

Ruth Vonderheide: Planning and Transactions Team Lead

Lyndsay Bilbrey: Benefits Team Lead

Making a difference

Our attorneys and staff were able to make a difference in so many lives this year! Here are some impressive numbers that show just how much we did:

455 families served

150 individuals participated in Life Care classes (Life Care classes were created to give participants a break from reality, a way to interact with other people and learn about new and exciting topics. The response we received from these classes was so positive, we’ve decided to continue them in 2022!)

We were able to continue to educate through media, thanks to multiple stories and appearances on media outlets including:

We could have not impacted so many families without you. We appreciate you sharing with others your experience with our firm so that we can continue to help families navigate Elder law issues. THANK YOU!

We look forward to helping you and your loved ones in 2022! Here is a look at what’s in store:

Continued Life Care Classes

Take a break from reality and connect with others during one of our fun, virtual workshops! Learn about new and interesting topics such as fall photography, aromatherapy and baking.

We will also continue to educate on the many benefits of having an Elder Care Coordinator by your side and the benefits of Life Care Planning. For more information on upcoming classes, please call our office: 317-492-9569

2021 taught us many things. As a firm, we used 2021 to grow, educate ourselves and adapt to the world as it is today. We are excited to continue to learn and expand so that we may always provide you and your family with the very best Elder Law experience.

May your hearts be filled with love, comfort and joy this holiday season. Thank you from everyone at Applegate & Dillman Elder Law.
