Celebrating women is something Applegate & Dillman does every day. As a woman-owned firm, we work to empower women on a daily basis. We are elevating our celebrations for International Women’s Day and ask you to join us.
International Women’s Day
First of all, what is International Women’s Day? Monday, March 8, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year’s theme is #ChooseToChallenge. Organizers say that change comes from challenge. They are encouraging us all to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality to help create an inclusive world.
What Applegate & Dillman is Doing
Applegate & Dillman is embracing the observation of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month in March and has a number of activities and observances scheduled. First, if you come to any of our offices on March 8, you’ll notice everyone is wearing purple – one of the official colors of International Women’s Day. Purple signifies justice and dignity. Since we are a law firm committed to justice, we chose purple over the other International Women’s Day colors of green and white.
Here are some other ways we are celebrating women:
- We’re also asking staff and clients to post #ChooseToChallenge selfies on social media and we’re sharing and posting them on the Applegate & Dillman accounts. Look for our posts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram with the hashtags #IWD2021 and #ChooseToChallenge.
- Applegate & Dillman is celebrating our female staffers with Peer to Peer recognition on our social media accounts for about a week. Look for these shout outs and compliments!
- Want to support Women-Owned Businesses? Our staff is sharing our favorite local businesses owned by women and explaining what we love about them!
- Finally, we’re highlighting our favorite female speakers, authors and events so we can all become more supportive of each other.
Please join Applegate & Dillman as we are celebrating women! Pick up a book by some of our favorite authors such as Kristin Hannah, Amber Alissa, Amanda Gorman or Laura Hillenbrand.
You can also plan to support a few of these women-owned businesses in Central Indiana: Ambre Blends, Tea’s Me Café, Café Patachou, Hedges, The Barn at Bay Horse Inn, Liebross Consulting, Amada Senior Care or Heal Thyself & Co.
Let’s make everyday a celebration of women and their accomplishments!
