The hot housing market has a lot of senior citizens thinking this may be the time to move to a smaller home, in with their kids or to a 55-and-over community. Applegate & Dillman Elder Law will provide important information for Indiana seniors considering downsizing during a two-part series of free, online seminars in August.

It’s tempting for seniors to sell their homes quickly right now since values are through the roof. These seminars will help them make smart decisions and provide a checklist of items to consider before, during and after they downsize.

The sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, August 10, and Tuesday August 24, at 11 a.m. and will last about an hour each.

In the first session, I’ll cover the various downsizing options – everything from Mother-in-Law suites and Granny Pods to Independent Living Facilities and 55-and-up communities. I’ll also outline things to consider before downsizing such as your finances, any medical issues that might impact your future, personal safety and opportunities to socialize.

In the second seminar, we’ll focus on what comes next after you downsize and how to adjust to a simpler life – while also leaving a legacy and keepsakes for your family.

There is no cost to attend these virtual sessions. We will provide links to the sessions once you register. You can RSVP by contacting Maria Page at Maria@applegate-dillman.com or by calling 317-492-9569. Secure your spot today!
